IN AMENAS
Outline: In Amenas is a true story - a multi-layered examination of a dramatic 4 day siege in Southern Algeria, that ended in dozens of deaths but also shows how 100 foreign hostages were able to hide, flee or be rescued.
We follow 4 western oil workers throughout the events as they unfold, brutally, over 4 days. The hostages find themselves caught in the crossfire of an extreme standoff between Al Quaeda inspired Algerian terrorists and the Algerian Army, a thousand miles from any human habitation in Algeria’s Southern Sahara. This is the essentially human story of captors and their victims and what they both have to do to survive.
